The short version: Kama Tip? is a calculator. You don't need an account, we don't ask for your name or email, and what you type into the calculator stays in your browser. We do use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
We operate Kama Tip? (kamatip.com). This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site and what we do with it.
The country you pick, the bill amount, the tip percentage and the number of diners are processed on your device to calculate the result. They are not sent to our servers.
To make the site more convenient, it stores a few small items in your browser:
| Name | What it's for | Where | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
kamatip-favs | The countries you starred | Local storage (localStorage) | Until you clear the site's data in your browser |
kamatip-lastfav | The starred country you used last | Local storage | Until you clear the site's data in your browser |
kamatip-lang | Your language choice (Hebrew or English) | Local storage | Until you clear the site's data in your browser |
kamatip-bill | The bill amount you typed, so it can carry over to another country that uses the same currency | Session storage (sessionStorage) | Until you close the tab |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics cookies (see below) | Cookies | Google's default is up to two years |
The items that start with kamatip are kept only on your device and are not sent to us. You can delete them at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser.
We use Google Analytics 4 from Google to count visits and understand which pages and countries people look at. The service uses cookies and similar technologies and receives information such as the page you viewed, the time of your visit, your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google says it does not store in Google Analytics 4), your browser and device type, screen size, language and the site that referred you. We look at this data in aggregate and do not try to identify individual visitors.
Google processes the information according to its own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. When you load a page, Vercel's servers receive your IP address and technical details about the request (such as your browser type and the page address) and use them to deliver the site, keep it secure and keep basic operational logs. See Vercel's privacy policy. The site is served over HTTPS.
To display the site's typefaces we load them from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser sends Google a request that includes your IP address.
Each country page lists sources with links to external websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
The site has no user accounts, and we don't ask for your name, email or other identifying details. We don't show ads on the site and we don't sell personal data.
Google and Vercel operate worldwide, so information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.
Depending on where you live (for example Israel, the European Union or the United Kingdom) you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to correct or delete it, or to object to certain processing. Because the site has no accounts or identifying profile, most of the information about your visit is held in Google Analytics under a random identifier in your browser, and we generally cannot link it to you. You can contact us with any question, and you may also complain to the Privacy Protection Authority in Israel or to the data protection authority in your country.
The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
